Vixen Artes 8.5×45 ED DCF Binoculars VX14531
The Artes ED 8.5X45 DCF Binocular from Vixen Optics features ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass to eliminate chromatic aberration. Combined with fully multicoated lenses and SK15 High Reflective coated sub prisms, the optics on this binocular delivers bright, clear, colour true views.
The Artes ED DCF Binocular has BAK4 phase coated roof prisms. It has a water repellant coating on the objectives and eyepiece lens surfaces. The generous eye relief of 17.5 mm allows sun and eyeglass wearers that extra level of comfort viewing the total range of the field of view.
It has a nitrogen filled waterproof and fog proof construction allowing use in inclement weather. A soft carrying case with a wide strap, objective caps and a 5 year warranty are part of the package.

ED lens and High refractive index prism SK15
【ED Lens】 Special lenses using ED (= ultra low dispersion) glass are adopted. Color fringing is suppressed to the limit, realizing extremely sharp picture quality.
【SK15】 High refractive index prism using glass material SK15 which can obtain high refractive index is adopted as auxiliary prism. Secure a bright field of sight around the field of vision.
Flat Multi-coating
Seven layers of anti reflection multilayer coating flat multi coat is applied to the lens surface. Less light loss than multi coating (3 layers), realizing high contrast.
Ultra high reflection coating
A new high reflectance coating with a derivative multilayer film is applied to one side of the auxiliary prism. It achieves extremely high reflectance over conventional high reflection coating.
Phase coating
Special coating that corrects the phase difference occurring in Daha type binoculars is given. halation is prevented, resolution is raised and high contrast is realized. *what is halation ?* It is a phenomenon that occurs when seeing strong light directly, it is reflection of light streaks and virtual images (ghosts). To suppress this halation, we need high quality lens coating and excellent optical design.
Hydrophobic coating
Special coating that does not adhere dirt to lens surface is given. Even when fingerprints or dirt sticks, it is easy to wipe off, keeping the lens surface clean at all times.
Magnesium alloy
As a body material, we adopt a magnesium alloy that is lightweight but has excellent fastness properties. That “lightness” corresponds to the wonderful wild bird movement.
Open hinge
We adopt an open hinge design where the center part is empty. As you can hang your fingers in the center space, you will be familiar with your hands and feel a sense of unity with the binoculars.
Water proof
It is designed so that water does not enter inside even if it gets wet with rain, snow etc.
Tripod mounting possible
By using Bino Holder MH or Carrying Bino Holder L in combination, it will be possible to mount it on a tripod while mounting the case.
